Who needs their arm twisted to go to Hawaii? Not us. Especially when it’s Four Seasons calling because they’ve just launched a new property just nine miles from Maui on the 90,000 acre secluded island of Lana’i. Yes sir, Four Seasons Resort Lana’i is open for business and there’s a strong chance that, once you’re there, you’ll never want to leave.
Even those most familiar and well versed with the Four Seasons brand will need to keep their balance with everything this paradise property is able to offer its guests, including hiking and horseback riding in the green upcountry lands, off-roading in a Polaris UTV across red dirt roads colored from volcanic rock, snorkeling in a marine sanctuary, whale and dolphin watching, luxury sailing yacht chartering and helicopter adventures.
Closer to home base are multiple dining experiences such as the signature ONE FORTY, NOBU LĀNA‛I, VIEWS at Manele Golf and Sports Bar, an immersive spa and wellness program, luxury retail boutiques featuring Missoni, Jimmy Choo and the Lāna‛i Collection combined with the 18-hole ocean-view Jack Nicklaus Signature Manele Golf Course.
There’s also access to a deserted beach accessible only by a 4×4 vehicle and, our personal favorite, the adults-only Retreat, whose waterfalls and lava rock grottos echo Lāna‛i’s iconic cliffs and offer stunning views of Hulopoʻe Bay. Further into the garden, you’ll a collection of secluded chaises and daybeds.
“We are delighted to share a unique destination experience with rich culture, diverse landscapes and limitless options for relaxation and adventure here on Lāna‛i,” said Tom Roelens, General Manager, Four Seasons Resorts Lāna‛i. “As a first, we offer guests the opportunity to experience Lānaʻi by Four Seasons through a number of activities curated by the Resort, in true Four Seasons style.”
In addition, the 217 guestrooms that include 51 suites showcase walls of teak and zebra wood edging artisan-produced Nepalese Lokta paper and floors of mahogany laid with wool hand-woven area rugs. Fully integrated and intuitive lighting, temperature, service, and privacy controls offer a highly responsive in-room technology experience featuring a 75 inch, platinum bezel LED television panel along with wearable key wristbands to allow maximum flexibility during activities on island, in-room iPad Airs and more.
