On This Day: Kobe Bryant Scores 81

On this day 10 years ago, Kobe Bryant lit up the Toronto Raptors for 81 points, the second highest output in an NBA game behind only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 back in 1962.

The Black Mamba scored 14 in the 1st quarter and 12 in the 2nd quarter for 26 points at the half.

And then he got pissed.

55 points in the 2nd half with 27 in the 3rd and 28 in the 4th.

The Lakers win 122-104 in LA with Bryant finishing 28-for-46 from the field (that’s 60.8% shooting), 7-for-13 from 3-point country along with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 3 steals. Ho-hum.
