Marshawn Lynch Saved His Money

Marshawn Lynch just showed that he’s a beast off the football field, just like he was on it.

The newly-retired Seattle Seahawk is leaving the NFL with a serious chunk of change from his 9 seasons – $49.7 million to be exact. While it’s not shocking that professional athletes can warrant that kind of paycheck, not squandering or losing it all is an entirely different story.

In a recent segment for The Ian & Puck Show on 950 AM KJR in Seattle, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network explained, “Marshawn Lynch has a lot of money. He hasn’t spent a dime of his actual playing money … ever.”

So what was Lynch living on? According to Forbes Magazine, Lynch is estimated to earn about $5 million per year through endorsement deals with Nike, Pepsi, Skittles, Progressive, and Activision. So there you go.

It still takes some incredible discipline and surrounding yourself with the right people to avoid going down the path that the majority of athletes find themselves on. Now, can Lynch continue to hold onto all that dough? So far, so good.
