When the bartender yells for last call will he say, “Don’t you people have homes?” That could be the siren call at the new “Caddyshack” themed sports bar to be opened by comedic legend, and ‘Sir And Sport’ favorite, Bill Murray. The award-winning actor and his five brothers have a verbal agreement for an 11,000 square foot space at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Ill, 30 minutes outside of downtown Chicago.
The six Murray brothers’ experiences growing up, working as caddies at the Indian Hill Club in Winnetka, Ill, inspired Brian Doyle-Murray to write the script for the iconic film. It’s not the family’s first foray into the restaurant business after opening the Murray Brothers Caddyshack restaurant in St. Augustine, FL in 2001.
We look forward to bellying up to the bar because it’s easy to grin when your gin comes in, especially when you’re feeling beat. But the bar worthwhile, is one that makes you smile, and you can find an open seat.
An opening is scheduled for late summer 2017.
